Transport UK Rail Replacement provides a specialist service to the UK Rail Industry when train services are disrupted by planned engineering work or emergency incidents. Our highly experienced rail replacement team offer a fully managed service for the provision of coaches, buses, small vehicles, and taxis.

The Role 

 

As a dedicated Resource Manager, you will be responsible for attracting, recruiting, training and day to day management of the dedicated coordinator pool associated with the GTR contract 

 

Our ideal candidate will be an extremely organised individual, with the ability to communicate confidently. You will enjoy a fast-paced working environment and be a self-starter and keen to learn all aspects of the role.  

 

Duties Include: 

  • Prepare, review and monitor job vacancies 
  • Handle and respond to incoming applications and enquiries via our Applicant Tracking System, phone and email 
  • Vet applications for suitability and competence 
  • Upload rosters and allocate resource 
  • Organise pre-employment checks 
  • Issue PPE and stock management 
  • Carry out any other duties as and when requested by the company from time to time 
  • Assist with the management of operative training and competencies 

 

The Ideal Candidate 

 

The successful candidate will: 

  • Be able to demonstrate and provide evidence of experience in a similar role (HR/Recruitment) ideally within rail/construction related industry 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint etc.) 
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail 
  • Excellent communication, literacy and interpersonal skills 
  • Experience of producing work for a team of people juggling competing priorities 
  • Flexible/proactive – a ‘can do’ attitude who shows initiative to support others
