Greater Anglia have an exciting opportunity to fill a new role in the company as Business Continuity and Resilience Manager working within the Greater Anglia Safety, Security and Sustainability Department. This role is based at Shenfield although hybrid working from any suitable GA office or from home is possible. Frequent travel across the GA network will be required.

The Role 

You will be reporting to the Head of Security and Resilience the successful applicant will take the lead role in ensuring that Greater Anglia’s emergency and business continuity plans are robust and in compliance with the latest legislation and best practice. This will involve writing plans yourself and assisting leaders and managers across the business to develop their own functional emergency and business continuity plans. You will also play a part in organising exercises and tests to ensure these plans are effective and to identify any improvements required.

The role will involve collaborating with stakeholders from within the business and the wider response community including Network Rail, Local Resilience Forums, the emergency services, and other railway organisations throughout the Greater Anglia region. Therefore, excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to joint working will be essential for success.

In addition to these core responsibilities, the successful applicant will ensure that training provided to colleagues with a role in emergency response is fit for purpose and also play a lead role in managing the Greater Anglia Incident Care Team.

What we are looking for? 

We are currently seeking a colleague who embodies a level of professionalism, fosters a positive attitude and a well organised approach to workloads. Preferably, candidates should possess previous experience in rail with an have a NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety and NEBOSH Fire Safety and Risk Management.

You should have a proactive and friendly approach when interacting with our valued candidates. Knowledge of ISO 22301 (Business Continuity Management Systems) and PTS would be helpful in this position.

Effective communication skills and interpersonal abilities are needed in this role as well as a good understanding of emergency planning and business continuity principles and practice.
