As part of the Transport UK Group, West Midlands Trains delivers around 1,300 train journeys a day, for more than 60 million passengers a year, across our two brands - West Midlands Railway and London Northwestern Railway.


We are committed to delivering a safe and reliable train service, by investing in our fleet of trains, stations and employees. As part of this investment, we are looking to recruit a Track Access Contract Manager, on a 18-month fixed term contract.

You will be responsible for managing West Midlands Trains’ Track Access Agreement, ensuring appropriate access rights to support services. You’ll work closely with access managers to safeguard key workstreams, uphold quality standards, and protect WMT’s contractual interests as the contract term nears completion.


What does the job involve?

  • Support project teams in developing Depot Change proposals.
  • Review and query Network Rail compensation statements; provide regular reports.
  • Assist with Station Change proposals, meeting support, and financial processes as needed.
  • Liaise with finance to process invoices and sales orders related to Depot and Track Access Contracts.
  • Attend and co-chair Level 2 Depot Access meetings with Network Rail.
  • Submit and manage claims to Network Rail (Schedule 4, Vehicle Damage, Network Change, Restriction of Use).
  • Review external Network Change and Supplemental Consultations; coordinate internal responses.
  • Submit legal assistance requests when required.

 

What skills and experience do I need to do the job?

  • Understanding of railway contractual processes and frameworks.
  • Basic knowledge of the Network Code.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Quick to learn and adaptable to new challenges.
  • Familiarity with West Midlands Trains operations.
  • Highly organised and capable of working independently.
