Role Details   

  • 35 hours per week (shift-based, including early starts, late finishes, nights and weekends,)   
  • The suitable candidate must be able to get to the early shifts by own means of transport/   
  • Full training provided and uniform provided , to ensure that you embrace our values and brand as a business.   
  • Candidates will be subject to a Right to Work check & DBS check for this position

We are currently forward planning for any future roles that may come up to join our Customer Service Team as a Hybrid Relief based in the Chelmsford Area. This advert is for future positions. The role could be either a Static or GPR Relief role working across all of these stations from Ingatestone to Marks Tey.

The Role   

As a Hybrid Area Relief at Greater Anglia, you will serve as the friendly face of our organisation, playing a vital role in ensuring a positive travel experience for our passengers.  

Duties may include:   

  • Provide effective customer service by meeting and greeting customers, selling tickets, and answering inquiries with a friendly and approachable demeanor.  
  • Assist customers in using ticket machines and educate them on new ticketing technologies such as smart cards and mobile apps as well as using automatic ticket gates. 
  • Oversee day-to-day platform operations, ensuring smooth travel for all customers, including supporting mobility-impaired individuals.  
  • Offer support during disruptions by assisting customers and maintaining effective communication with Drivers and Conductors.  
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations by reporting faults and hazards, maintaining a clean and tidy station, and occasionally working alone.  
  •  Dispatch trains when required.
