Exciting opportunities have arisen for iBus controllers in our Performance Department based at both Battersea and Twickenham, successful candidates may also be required to work at roadside or point locations. The purpose of the job is to ensure that the quality of performance meets the standards required to enable it to achieve success and meet Performance targets. The successful candidates will be offered a permanent role working shifts, these are rostered on a five day, 40 hour week basis which will include rostered Weekends and bank holidays.
Main Responsibilities
- To actively promote Abellio Safety Principles at all times
- To ensure effective control of service quality on specific routes ensuring that company targets are achieved and if possible exceeded.
- Responsible for providing clear instruction at all times to platform staff, ensuring that they fully understand what is required and what has been asked.
- To ensure that mileage is accurately recorded in line with company procedures.
- To support drivers in maintaining good customer relations ensuring all enquiries and complaints are dealt with promptly and effectively to ensure a high standard of customer service.

To actively promote Abellio Way at all times and strive to achieve our vision.
- To provide an efficient, regular and high quality bus service by supervising services and staff at terminals, garages and intermediate points along the routes
- Liaise with Roadside Controllers, Performance Managers, TfL, CentreComm, TSG and London Bus Officials with regards to service disruptions, in order to meet the required performance standards.
- To develop a good working relationship with Drivers and other support staff
- To be fully conversant with the iBus control strategies and complete role specific paperwork.
The Candidate
- A good work and attendance record is essential;
- Previous relevant supervisory or staff management experience would be advantageous.
- A sound working knowledge of bus service operation including the iBus system, including an understanding of the Company’s obligations to TfL.
- Sound written and oral communication skills;
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook;
- Ability to work as part of a team;
- Conversant with the rules and regulations for Drivers including Drivers Hours Regulations;
- Ability to encourage, coach and guide Drivers to achieve the standards and levels of performance expected by Abellio.
