An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an Insurance & Claims Manager in our Finance Department in Walworth Depot. The successful applicant will manage and control the insurance and Claims function for ALS both internally (Managers & Staff) and externally (with the company’s claims handlers & insurers).
The Role:

Ensure that appropriate insurance levels are maintained and to collate the necessary information for the annual insurance renewal as well as updating, as required, upon changes in the business needs

Achieve reduced claims cost and encourage best practice across all ALS sites for accident reporting and investigation.

To produce monthly reports for accounts, detailing the monthly claims costs and maintain record of local account adjustments for specific claims with potential financial risk.

Produce claims discounting detail at year end for accounts

Work closely with depot teams to ensure they are updated on claims progress and attend quarterly meetings with UK Claims & Loss Control Manager and the wider claims team.

To drive improvements and best practice across the business in conjunction with the wider claims team and Identify initiatives and support the management team in controlling claims costs, maximising recoveries and limiting the company’s risks.

To drive best practice, and efficient reporting of Cost of Repair forms for uninsured loss recoveries

To collaborate with the HSE Manager to help identify and drive improvements and reduce the risk of injury/claims
- To undertake any other duties commensurate with the Grade.
The Candidate:
-
Relevant Claims Experience in Motor/EL Claims

Cert CII qualified or working towards is essential

Previous relevant management experience

Strong Computer skills to include MS Office but in particular MS Excel

Able to communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external staff

Must be experienced in managing and motivating a team to achieve high standards and meet deadlines, be performance focused with the ability to enthuse a team to achieve results.

Capable of working on own initiative and a team worker

Must have a flexible approach, and be prepared to work outside normal hours to meet deadlines and travel to other sites in company and UK.
