Technical Support Engineer
We have a great opportunity for a Technical Support Engineer to join our Engineering Team at the Ilford Depot.
Main Duties:
You will be the single point of contact to for technical advice that supports production. This includes taking safe decisions to manage safety and reliability of the fleets. Alongside this you will also provide the link between the technical team and the operating railway.
Be the guiding mind for first-line fault finding and repeat defects through bespoke scope of works, on the job training and coaching technicians. Deliver on call service to manage major incidents and recovery on the running line, while providing clear and concise information to production, planning and control.
Undertake technical, safety, incident investigations and audits to ensure root cause is established, with shared recommendations on the wider learning which is published. Be the custodian of system safety, reliability and maintainability.
What we are looking for:
You will hold an Engineering qualification and have an understanding of the railway industry. You will have the ability to convert external events into internal impact statements and actions. Someone who can manage OEMs/suppliers for improved technical performance. The understanding of OEM and RoSCo technical processes is also essential to this role.
Someone who possess excellent interpersonal skills with the confidence to influence all internal stakeholders and external bodies. Have a comprehensive understanding of key business drivers from both an operational and commercial perspective.
An individual with excellent communication, time management and organisational skills.
