Yard Supervisor
An excellent opportunity is available for a Yard Supervisor to join our team at Orient Way.
Role and Accountability:
Actively participate and contribute to performance improvement of the train service. Contribute to the development of staff briefing, developing and delivering a robust system of ‘all staff’ ‘every time’; promoting inclusiveness and robust feedback principles.
You will be directing all movements within the sidings to ensure our business requirements are achieved ono time to meet safety and timetable commitments. Responsible for the safe and efficient working of all movements and shunting within Orient Way sidings, ensuring maximum coverage of service and meeting maintenance and cleaning requirements.
Liaise with Train Crew on matters relating to working within Orient Way sidings, and with Control on all matters relating on unit workings. Ensure all relevant documentation is correctly processed and is legible and kept in line with company policy. You will also be required to maintain radio communications with key personnel within Orient Way, be responsible for operation of Wash plant and reporting faults and maintain a detailed and comprehensive log book on operational matters.
Responsible for security within Orient Way and ensure all safety legislation and safety certificate requirements are fully met, maintaining a safe working environment. Carry out Planned General Inspections (PGI) on a periodic basis and ensure specifications and standards are always met.
Experience, Knowledge and Qualifications Required:
You must have experience of maintaining legible paperwork work and able to maintain a high level of concentration at all times whilst carrying out shunting duties. You will have a flexible approach to work and hold a Driving license. Possess excellent written, verbal and IT MS Office skills.
