An exciting opportunity is available for a Digital Marketing Apprentice to join Merseyrail’s Marketing & Revenue Team.

Working in a fast-paced environment, the Digital Apprentice will support the Senior Marketing Manager in delivering marketing campaigns and passenger communications through a variety of digital channels. The role will be responsible for developing content for the Merseyrail website, emails and social media and producing reports on the effectiveness of these updates.

The role will allow you to gain experience in how digital integrates with all activity that the Marketing team undertakes, with a focus on innovation and return on investment. You will also be expected to provide administrative support to ensure that deadlines are met and budgets are managed.

Ideally the successful candidate should have:

  • Excellent copywriting skills and the initiative to create new and engaging content on digital platforms.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work to several deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills and awareness of innovations to suggest improvements which can help to meet objectives.
  • Technical ability and the skills to quickly learn how to use online content management systems and analytical tools.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to develop to effective relationships both internally and externally.

As part of your role within Merseyrail, you will be required to enrol on a funded Level 3 Marketing Assistant Apprenticeship. This will involve guided study through release days provided by a registered training provider, online tutorial and on the job learning. Upon completion of the apprenticeship, you will be required to complete the end point assessment which involves a knowledge and a work based project.
