Following on from the award of West Midlands Trains franchise, we are dedicated to giving people and businesses the rail service they’ve always wanted.  We’re investing £1 billion into the region’s network, providing new and smartly refurbished trains, better stations, extra benefits and cheaper travel.  London North-western Railway (LNR) and West Midlands Railway (WMR) are 2 new rail brands to the UK rail market, operating since December 2017. 

We have an exciting position, for a Document Controller & Risk Co-ordinator to join us at our head offices at West Midlands Trains. You will be reporting to the Head of Occupational Safety (HOS) and provide overall administrative support to the Safety and Environmental Team. You will make straightforward decisions within departmental guidance and ensure compliance with the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act.

We are looking for an experienced individual who has previous Document Controller & Risk Co-ordinator experience ideally within rail.  A self-starter you will be used to working autonomously as well as collaboratively with the overall Safety team with the ability to Carry out Safety Management Information System (SMIS) data input daily and ACMS to the correct timescales for Operational accidents and incidents. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a busy administration role. 

The successful applicant will have the following:

  • Previous experience of a busy administration role is essential
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Highly developed organisational skills
  • Customer focused
  • Effective communication skills, written and verbal
  • Able to work under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Able to prioritise own workload
  • Team player
