This is a fantastic time to join West Midlands Trains as we embark on your new franchise to improve our passenger’s journeys. We operate services in and around the West Midlands, now called West Midlands Railway (WMR) and services from the North West to London, now called London Northwestern Railway (LNR).

We are recruiting for a Duty Operations Manager to be based from Northampton Train Station. We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering an excellent customer experience and can lead on minimising the operational impact of disruption at the station. Your role will also include supervising train crew, disseminating relevant information in a timely fashion in line with Passengers Information During Disruption and working closely with Network Rail to ensure service restoration. The role will also involve dispatching trains services as required.

Our successful candidate will possess:

  • Experience managing and leading teams
  • Railway operational experience involving leading Traincrew teams
  • A comprehensive knowledge of train performance
  • Competent IT skills involving spreadsheets and IT programs
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A calm, composed and friendly approach
  • Strong problem solving skills

This role involves shifts and weekends and is a safety critical role.
