This is a fantastic time to join West Midlands Trains as we embark on your new franchise to improve our passenger’s journeys. As part of the wider Abellio Group, West Midlands Trains Ltd, operates as a joint venture - West Midlands Railway and London Northwestern Railway, delivering over 1,300 safe and reliable services per day for more than a 60 million passengers per year.  Since the start of our franchise in 2017 we have been committed to improving our services, investing a whopping £1 billion into the region’s network, £18million in the development of all our workforce.

We are looking to recruit a Senior Interface Manager (High Speed 2), on a full-time permanent basis in London Euston. You will be responsible for managing all issues associated with the HS2 project which impact West Midlands Trains (WMT).  The project interfaces with HS2, the Euston Partnership, Network Rail, DfT and other TOCs and is part of the Stations Team within the LNW Commercial Directorate.

You will bring with you the following skills and experience:

  • Exceptional levels of building of strong working relationships with senior personnel at external stakeholders. 
  • Ability to work with others in meetings to influence and deliver outcomes which meet all objectives whilst protecting WMT interests.
  • Experience of turning strategic concepts into practical solutions.  Proven ability to make rational, realistic and sound decisions based on good analysis of the full facts and consideration of the different options and outcomes.
  • Ability to respond to a wide range of complex and conflicting interests and to communicate effectively with key stakeholders in their resolution.
  • Deep understanding Government management of HS2 and the relevant rail industry commercial frameworks.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills for both public and private sector organisations
  • Significant experience of negotiations with Government and public bodies
  • Experience of consultation with customers and stakeholders
