Head of Train Presentation

West Midlands Trains are seeking a Head of Train Presentation who is accountable for the standard of Train Presentation across all our fleet.  As part of our senior management team you will lead and manage the station-based cleaning staff who are deployed across the WMR and LNWR stations estate.  In addition you will work closely with the Head of Fleet Production and Head of Fleet Commercial to lead the Train Presentation activities at depots and through train maintenance or other contracts, to deliver the standard of cleanliness and train environment demanded by our customers.

Key accountabilities:

• Be responsible for and set the standards for train presentation on all of the West Midlands Trains Fleet
• As a minimum meet the service quality committed franchise obligations associated with train presentation on the West Midlands Trains Fleet
• Line Management for the station-based Train Presentation staff
• Lead and influence the Train Presentation delivered by others including Fleet Production staff or through train maintenance contracts
• Be responsible for the Train Presentation Manuals, processes and procedures
• Ensure that personnel within your department are professional in their approach and undertake their duties in a safe manner
• Undertake team briefings and one to one sessions with colleagues in accordance with business requirements
• Should it be requested deputise for the Engineering Director
• Work with the Engineering Director and other Heads of Department with the directorate to determine future strategy and solve any problems that may emerge
• In conjunction with the Engineering Director and the HR Business Partner look to fostering and developing good industrial relations
• Be responsible for managing all 3rd party contracts that deliver train presentation.

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Significant experience of managing cleaning/presentation functions at a senior level, including team management
• Significant experience in managing contractors
• Holds IOSH Managing Safely qualification or equivalent
• Experience of managing Health & Safety within the workplace including manual handling, COSHH and risk assessment
• Has knowledge of the following:
• ISO9000
• Quality assurance techniques
• Project Engineering or Management techniques to include root cause analysis.
