An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Yard Operations team as a Deputy Yard Controller. This position will be based at Norwich Crown Point Depot, on a permanent basis.

This is a closed vacancy for Yard Assistants based at Norwich Crown Point.

The Role

This role will bridge the gap between Yard Assistant and Yard Controller and offer the chance for the successful colleague to develop new skills.

Duties will include, covering both Yard Assistant and Yard Controller roles between Crown Point and Norwich Victoria Sidings and associated tasks within each role.

Your responsibilities will include the safe and efficient working of all movements and shunting within Crown Point Depot and Yard through 24 hours, ensuring maximum coverage of service and meeting maintenance and cleaning requirements.

Within this role, you will liaise with Service Delivery Manager and Duty Train Crew Manager on matters relating to workings within Crown Point Yard and with Control when required.

This is a multi-faceted role, and you will be covering both the duties of a Yard assistant and Yard Controller when required.

What we are looking for

The successful colleague must have the essential experience required for this role as a competent Yard Assistant to the Greater Anglia 8.27 standard, and operational experience within a working depot environment.
