An opportunity has arisen for a Stations Support Apprentice to join Merseyrail’s Stations Team in a role that will provide experience and training across the whole Stations function.

Reporting into the Station Compliance Manager, we are pleased to offer a fixed term contract for 2 years. The apprentice role will support the day to day running of the stations and Station Compliance Team whilst working towards completing a Business Administration Level 3 apprenticeship.

The stations team at Merseyrail cover 67 (soon to be 68) stations across the City Region. Your role as our apprentice will be to support the Station Compliance Manager, the Station Management Team, and Head of Stations.

The role will give the successful candidate a fantastic understanding of the crucial part the stations team play in the successful running of the Merseyrail network. Gaining experience in special event management and planning, providing administrative tasks for the wider SM team, and supporting the Station Compliance Team to ensure the stations team and our customers have everything they need to ensure they have an exceptional experience on our network.

What we are looking for:

For the Station Support Apprentice role, we are looking for someone who has enthusiasm to learn, works productively in a team as well as individually and has exceptional attention to detail.

Whilst employed at Merseyrail, you will be enrolled onto a Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship. The apprenticeship will enhance your knowledge, skills and behaviours within a successful team. The apprenticeship typically takes 12-18 months to complete and uses blended learning methods including classroom-based training and on the job learning.
Requirements:
- Problem solving attitude with a drive to maintain high standards of work.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A team player, willing to pitch in when workload is high in the department.
- Ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines. 
- A genuine interest in a related career.
- Maths & English Level 4-9 / GCSE Grade C or above.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
