Abellio London Bus operates bus services across London on behalf of TFL, plus rail replacement and event services across the UK. We operate over nine per cent of the London’s bus network, running 800 vehicles and employing around 2,700 employees across six depots in Central, South and West London. We run a number of routes, carrying over 150 million passengers a year on TfL’s contracted bus network.

Duties include:

  • To plan and manage replacement services on each weekend.
  • Ensure all rail replacement controller and pilot duties are covered.
  • Provide administrative services and support to the Commercial Services Managers
  • Respond to all correspondence in a timely manner
  • Work effectively with external suppliers and colleagues
  • Have a duty of care for the health and safety of yourself and your colleagues at all times, including a duty to report unsafe acts or omissions to safety
  • Providing cover during times of absence and holidays
  • To undertake any other duties commensurate with the role

The candidate:

  • Must have thorough appreciation of the needs of external customers and external stakeholders, coupled with the ability to identify areas for improvement and implement effective action plans.
  • Able to communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external staff. Able to provide clear and concise feedback and guidance to promote staff confidence in decision making.
  • Skilled in strategic thinking and forward planning to avert problems before they occur and solve problems when they occur.
  • Must be experienced in managing and motivating a team to achieve high standards and meet deadlines, be performance focused with the ability to enthuse a team to achieve results.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret information
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Must have a flexible approach and be prepared to work outside normal hours to meet deadlines.
  • Conversant with the rules and regulations for Drivers including Drivers Hours Regulations
