West Midlands Trains has an exciting opportunity for a HS2 Train Planning Manager to join our Train Planning Team based at our Head Office in Birmingham. This role is a fixed term contract until May 2019.
The HS2 Train Planning Manager will have the ability to perform most disciplines within the Train Planning Unit. This may include anything from train timing, rolling stock diagramming to rail replacement bus timing/procurement in conjunction with HS2 enabling works and associated major project schemes.
Reporting to the Engineering Access Manager, the Train Planning Manager will develop and implement the most cost-effective amended train plans when track access is restricted. They will also Create robust train paths in conjunction with HS2 enabling works and other major engineering projects.
The successful candidate will be an analytical thinker, with the ability to communicate complex planning data to line managers. They will be adaptable, proactive and be able to work on their own initiative. Although training will be provided, some knowledge of VoyagerPlan and Microsoft Office software would be desirable.
