West Midlands Trains has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Control Manager to join our Controls team based at Tyseley (Interim) on a Full-Time Permanent basis.
Salary: £57,066
Purpose of the Role:
Responsible for the effective and safe operation of maintenance control within the control team, covering 24 hours a day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as Maintenance Controller in maintenance control, managing in service faults and failures, planning depot maintenance requirements and providing first line technical assistance to operations staff
- Record and report all information relevant to Operational Safety Incidents/Accidents, service defects and failures in a detailed and efficient manner
- Manage and co-ordinate main line defects, failures and serious incidents
- Ensure that maintenance is undertaken in accordance with Rail Group Standards and the STS Rolling Stock VMI
- Provide technical guidance to assist Line of Route maintenance staff
- Ensure satisfactory close out of safety related traction an rolling stock incidents
- Ensure that all reporting IT systems are updated in a precise and efficient manner
- Management and control of relevant fleet downloads and electronic data
- Maintain fleet competence and fault finding skills
- Undertake any other duties as and when required
Experience and Knowledge required for the Job:
- Must have relevant experience in mechanical / electrical engineering environment
- Must have detailed knowledge of technical aspects of the rolling stock allocated to the depot
- Ability to complete all records of actions and operations accurately and to procedures
- Advanced knowledge of IT systems / software
- Good communication, planning and organisational skills
Additional skills:
- Excellent attention to detail
- Promote and use the BMS to control and manage work
- Understand the H & S and environment risks involved in any activity they control and ensure any mitigation designated to control that risk are effectively operated/implemented
